OUR MINISTRIES
We are a caring church and we have a variety of ministries that strive to provide spiritual growth to our congregation while bringing glory to God. We are committed to the Great Commission and we are "...not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." - Romans 1:16
Sunday School
We have a variety of classes for every age. We have classes for adults, teenagers, children, and even a nursery for the young children and infants. We would love for you to join us as we earnestly study God's Word.
"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." - 2 Timothy 2:15
Witnessing Opportunities
Our church is always seeking new ways to be a witness in our community. Our goal is to reach every household in Union County with the gospel. We will be at the monthy yard sale at the stadium passing out tracts, Bibles, and flyers for our church.
"...and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." - Acts 1:8
Men's Meetings
On the second Saturday of each month, the men of Hillside gather at the church for a devotional lesson that is followed by a time of fellowship. The morning ends with a delicious breakfast. It certainly is a time for us to grow as brethren in Christ.
"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." - 1 Corinthians 15:58
Ladies' Meetings
On the last Saturday of every month, the ladies of the church meet for a devotion that is followed by fellowship. It is a great time for our women to grow together and become more faithful women of God.
"Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised." - Proverbs 31:30
Children and Youth
We have a burden to train our children and young people in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. From the Youth Meetings on Sunday afternoons to our Vacation Bible School each summer, we have a variety of ways to teach our children and also encourage them to serve the Lord.
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." - Proverbs 22:6
Music
We sing the old hymns of the faith. These songs are full of so much rich teaching and doctrine. You can usually count on someone singing a solo on Sunday as well. Come and help us praise the Lord in song!
"Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;" - Ephesians 5:19
Special Church Functions
We have a number of special functions throughout the year to give us an opportunity to fellowship and grow as a church family.
"Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do." - 1 Thessalonians 5:11
